This will be short talk on project icestorm, which is an open source toolchain for FPGAs. This is the first such project which allows one to completely ditch vendor tools and use open source software to allow you to write verilog code for certain chips from Lattice Semiconductors. This will be an introductory talk explaining what FPGAs are, and how this project is useful.
